About

Father Denis J. Hanly was a Maryknoll Missionary for over 55 years. He was a wonderful pastor who looked after his flock with great care and dedication. He is dearly loved and greatly missed.

On this website, we offer a selection of Father’s homilies. We recorded these homilies, with Father’s permission, over a period of more than five years. He also very kindly gave us permission to upload these homilies to our website.

It is our hope that through these recordings Father’s words will continue to guide us and change our lives.

And it is our special hope that Father’s homilies, always kind, always wise, always full of love, will restore you to peace and harmony through a new understanding of what is important in this world.

These homilies were taped in an ordinary parish, so sounds from the congregation and slips of the tongue are part of the package, but it is a package which is filled with Father’s wisdom, generosity and love.

An inspirational fulfilment of what a grace is all about. A beautiful gift that I cannot miss visiting before I preach. Its always an uplifting special moment when reading his homilies and I will honour him by preaching his spirit that continues to touch so many lives. Thank you Dennis for sharing your gift with me and all those who are in the publication ministry.

My husband and I served the Lord through a Catholic community from 1998 to present. We recently became lukewarm in our service because of personal differences within the community and the pandemic has made it worse and gave us an excuse to not attend our usual meetings of worship and prayer. Reading Fr. Hanly’s transcripts of homilies filled the gaps created by our absences in those meetings and made us even hungrier for them. Thank you for doing what you are doing.

I came across this website while searching for inspired writings about the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, which the Church will celebrate this weekend. Fr. Hanley’s “Image of God” homily was just beautiful. Thank you for making this wonderful content available!

Thankyou for putting up these valuable information, pictures and homilies! We are lucky enough to have him helping in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hong Kong. He did a great job and was loved by all parishioners from young to mature. We miss him very much!

Dear Savio, I remember all my visits to Our Lady of Lourdes and the Bible Classes led by Father Hanly. I wish I had attended more of his masses. These homilies help make up for this. My friends in the U.S. and my sister in Canada who have not met Father are using the homilies for their meditations every day.
